Is the advice really free ?

Yesterday i make a quick stop at HomeDec KLCC.  I was lingering around at the ID’s corner where the ID are making compelling discount for their work.The discount really tempting thus i stop and make inquire at 2 booth to know more.

Here we go :

Booth 1 : For ID sketch and advice , the cost will be RM 13,000. Free if you pay them to do the everything ( ID , design and renovation)

Booth 2: ID sketch and advice will cost you RM 8,000. 50% discount if they do the renovation.

I asked them to show me the example of the ID sketch and yes it similar to what we deliver to our user.

So here are the question ? Is our advice and sketch are free ?Are we charging you RM 13,000 or RM 8,000 ?

Now what we will deliver ?

• upon you sent us the information we required, we will do ID sketch.

Here are what we normally asked from our user to let us know :

•  floor plan and size area where you want to do ID.
• photo of the area.
• any concept you want to implement at that area.
• color , what color you like ?

In return we will sent you the ID sketch.

Back to the question ? Is it free ?

Yes , absolutely free. No hanky panky.

Now , the next question which we always asked. Why are we doing this ? Are we spoiling the ID market ? How we do we make money ?

First thing first ..

Free Interior Designer Advice .

For the past 8 month since we do www.idearumah.com , we always got this question :

• who are you ? are you real or some con man ?
• free ? why are you doing this ?
• free service, cannot be?
• really free service , must be hidden cost somewhere.tell me now ?
• free service , how you make money then?
• English ?? why don’t you used Bahasa ?

Also when our user submit request for our free services we will call her before 24 hours. And most user will say :

• wow! you guys are really fast
• uhmmm! i never though you guys really call us.
• free services ?? really ??

Since we keep getting this question , i was thinking may be now i should do the blog.

We hope in the blog we will answer the question also :

• try to convince you that we really really free service.
• we want to share our success and mistake in idearumah.com. Basically want to share some of the things that we do business wise.
• some tips and trick from our Interior Designer.
